R15
The R15 deposit is a polymetallic (zinc, lead, copper, gold and silver), volcanic hosted massive sulphide deposit (VMS deposit) located in the prolific Finlayson district, Yukon, Canada. It is located 5km from the Kudze Ze Kayah deposit (Indicated resources of 18.3Mt @ 0.9 % Cu, 1.9 % Pb, 6.3 % Zn, 1.4 g/t Au, and 138 g/t Ag) and 20 km from the Wolverine deposit (Measured and Indicated Resource of 4.46 Mt at 12.14 % Zn, 1.16 % Cu, 1.58 % Cu, 354 g/t Ag, 1.7 g/t Au ).
The deposit occurs in the of the Finlayson Lake District and is hosted with a succession of in dominantly felsic flows, tuffs, synvolcanic intrusions with minor meta-sediments of the mid-Devonian Grass Lakes succession. Mineralization occurs as multiple closely spaces, massive sulphides lenses ranging from 1-4m thick conceiting of sphalerite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, and galena. Alteration around the deposits is zoned with higher temperature chlorite alteration in the footwall and in close proximity to the massive sulphide horizons, to lower temperature sericite quartz alteration in the hanging wall and distal to the massive sulphide horizons.
The best intersection on the R15 property is drill hole R12-11 which intersected 8.25m of 8.49 % Zn, 3.94 % Pb, 0.24 % Cu, 34.70 g/t Ag, 0.061 g/t Au.
The R15 project is located approximately 5km east of the Kudze Ze Kayah deposit and approximately 20km West of the Wolverine Deposit and is accessible via helicopter.
