Who We Are
Solidus Geological Services, based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, has been providing high quality geological services to the mineral exploration industry since 2007. Solidus has worked with a variety of exploration companies and a wide variety of mineral deposit models. Project work has ranged from early stage projects to advanced projects including preliminary economic assessment (PEA), pre-feasibility (PFS), and feasibility studies.
Gilles Dessureau is the owner and principal geologist, and is building a team of professional geologists.
Gilles is a Professional Geologist with over 15+ years of exploration and development experience in the Western Cordillera including Yukon and British Columbia as well as other locations throughout North America including Nevada, Ontario and Quebec. He has been the Owner and Principal Geologist of Solidus Geological Services since 2007 and worked with a number of clients including Fireweed Zinc Ltd., Golden Predator Mining Corp., Columbus Gold Corp., and Colorado Resources Ltd. among others.
Gilles has accumulated vast experience in mineral exploration focusing volcanic hosted massive sulphide (VMS) deposits along with other economically significant deposit types including SEDEX, porphyries, and structurally controlled gold deposits. He has gained experience with a number of projects ranging from “grass roots” exploration to mine development and was instrumental in advancing the Wolverine polymetallic VMS deposit in the Yukon through pre-feasibility and into production, which began commercial production in 2010.
Gilles graduated with a Master’s degree from Laurentian University in Sudbury following a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from St. Mary’s University in Halifax. He is a Professional Geologist registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC) and a non-practicing member of the Association of Professional Geologists of Ontario (APGO).
